Sore heel
Running 1 Comment »My left heel is playing up badly. I’m not sure what it is. I feel it more after a run, and after sleeping than during a run, but I can feel the damage I’m doing when I run if that makes any sense.
The sensation is odd. Like a burning pain that stretches from the top of my heel down. It’s flaring pain, not effected by pushing on it, or knocking it. I’ve done a bit of a trawl around the net, and it sounds like Plantar Fascitis. Sounds bloody horrible!
So, rather than do nothing I am walking, and running on soft sand without shoes.
Being straight after Christmas I’ll have to wait until next week to head to the podiatrist. My shoes are at about 5oom kms so may be time to trade up to a new pair. That’s where I had my ITB issues last time. It may be that I need new shoes more regularly.
Anyway, it’s all guesswork until I do see somebody, but it is a royal pain when I want to start the new season fresh. There is a 5km twilight run next week which I’ll run but not for anything but the hot dogs at the end!
